The Department of Communication & Film at the University of Memphis (memphis.edu/communication) is seeking a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Instructor/Coordinator for its fully online BA Communication Studies Concentration. An MA in communication is required, PhD is preferred. Experience teaching online courses and ability to teach some of the required courses for the concentration (e.g., Communication Ethics, Communication Research Methods, Senior Capstone) as well as upper-division electives (e.g., Organizational Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Health Communication) are required. Experience developing online courses and curriculum and knowledge of online learning management systems are desirable. The teaching load is 4 courses a semester. The Instructor/Coordinator will also advise fully online Communication Studies majors as well as serve as the departmental liaison with UofM Global, which coordinates UofM’s online degree programs (memphis.edu/uofmglobal).

The Department of Communication Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Must have a terminal degree in Communication or closely related field by appointment date. Position begins August 1, 2019.

Rhetoric (#130430). The successful candidate must have primary expertise in Rhetoric with secondary area(s) of interest such as Online/Digital Rhetorics, Critical/Cultural Studies, Space/Place, and/or Materiality. The candidate will teach in areas related to Rhetoric as well as core courses in the major and the general education public speaking course.

The faculty significantly contribute to our growing and dynamic department. We teach on ground, online, and hybrid formats. Many of our classes participate in experiential and service learning. Faculty engage a range of scholarly methods and theories taught in the department. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a commitment to a program of scholarly activity, work effectively with colleagues, and recruit/retain students to the major.

The University of Montevallo, a public liberal arts university of 2,500 students near Birmingham, Alabama, invites applications for an Instructor of Communication Studies, a full-time (nine-month) renewable non-tenure-track position beginning August 2019.
